Acrylic paint - it's not just for backgrounds anymore. I think acrylic paint is one of the most versatile supplies out there. For one it come in hundreds of beautiful colors. And you can use just a little on your layouts to create impact. You can use it to make lines for journaling, stamped with it on transparency to make a custom accent, and hand-painted journaling right on top of a photograph.
